Old Chapel
Gallery is situated in a key position on the popular Black &
White Tourist Trail in the heart of rural North Herefordshire.
Established
by Yasmin Strube in 1989 in the setting of a fine Victorian Chapel,
the Gallery has gone from strength to strength and has established
itself as a centre of excellence where casual browsers and serious
collectors of contemporary arts and crafts alike can find work by
both established local and nationally known artists and makers alongside
innovative work by talented newcomers.
Displayed in
the downstairs gallery is an ever-changing kaleidoscope of crafts:
Ironwork, a particular strength - garden furniture - contemporary
furniture - wood turning - carving - three dimensional work often
using recycled or natural material - fine hand-blown glass - sculpture
- ceramics - jewellery and textiles with a strong accent on knitwear.
Exhibitions
are held seasonally four times a year in the upstairs gallery -
usually mixed media - which provides the opportunity to introduce
new young makers alongside well-known names.
